Hironobu SawakeDirector of Research

After graduating from Yokohama National University’s Faculty of Business Administration (Division of Accounting and Information), Sawake joined Nikko Securities and was assigned to the Nikko Research Center. He went on to work at ABN AMRO Securities, ING Barings, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (including UFJ Tsubasa Securities Co. Ltd. prior to the merger), and JP Morgan Securities Japan Co. Ltd. before joining Shared Research. He was also a visiting fellow at Stanford University’s Asia Pacific Research Center from June 1992 to April 1993, and is a former member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan Corporate Disclosure Study Group. As an analyst, he has covered the industrial machinery, network communications, media, games, and information services sectors, and the U.S high-tech industry while at Nikko Research Center (America). He consistently ranked among the top ranking analysts from 1997-2010, ranking second in both Institutional Investor and Nikkei Veritas analysts polls in 2009 for his coverage of the telecommunications sector.

Noritomo NomotoSenior Analyst

Noritomo was a fund manager at a hedge fund. He was also an analyst at Allianz Global Investors Japan, Partners Asset Management (acquired by Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management), and was responsible for product planning at Yamaichi Investment Trust Management (now known as Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management). Noritomo received a B.A. in Economics from Saitama University.

Ken MurakoshiSenior Analyst

He worked for the Toyo Trust and Banking Company (acquired by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation), Sanwa Bank (acquired by Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Holdings), Nomura Asset Management, Mizuho Securities, and SMBC Nikko Securities. After working as an analyst covering the electronic components sector, he became Sector Head of small and mid cap growth stocks. Ken was also ranked first across all sectors in the top stock pickers category of the 2009 Thomson Reuters StarMine Analyst Awards. He graduated from the Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo University.

Nobuaki OkimotoSenior Analyst

After graduating from the University of Tokyo (Department of Advanced Social and International Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences), Nobuaki joined Nikko Securities, where he was seconded to Nikko Research Center. He later worked at BNP Paribas Japan, Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting, Shinko Asset Management, and Asset Management One before joining Shared Research. His focuses as an analyst include industrial machinery, electronics, general trading companies, telecommunications, and small and medium-sized companies.

Mayumi TsudaAnalyst

She worked for AXA Life and Jefferies Japan. In 2002, she moved to London and worked at FM Capital Management as an analyst. From 1994, she was an assistant to fund managers at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
