Noritsu Koki is a holding company, with its core businesses in manufacturing. Within the Manufacturing segment are the Parts/Materials business (felt nibs for writing instruments) and the Audio Equipment/Peripherals business (DJ equipment and earphones). The company was established around the imaging business (minilab, an automatic photo development system, which in its heyday had a global market share of more than 50%, according to the company). Digitalization caused demand for minilabs to shrink, and in 2009 the company started transforming its business model through acquisition and business creation. The company has completed its business restructuring, making Manufacturing its core segment.
