GiG Works operates gig economy* platforms that match companies or individuals who wish to outsource work (clients) with individual contractors who take on one-off or short-term projects on demand (gig workers) based on skill and availability. Founded in 1996, the company initially concentrated on projects that involved PC configuration and orientation. In the early 2000s, it secured a nationwide ADSL modem installation service contract from Yahoo! BB, which fueled much of its growth.
